Welcome to the Running Apes website.  We will be running the London Marathon on 26th April 2009 and  have set up this website in order to raise money for charity.  We need all your help, support and money to raise £4500 for a small but incredibly worthwhile charity called MACS.

Through our website you can find out information on the charity and the work that they do, what fundraising events we will be holding and how you can get involved, updates on how our training is going and most importantly how you can donate money!

We Did It!!!

After 7 months, 1 official half marathon, 1 very long run and numerous injuries and niggles the big day came and went.

On what was the hottest marathon day since the event began in 1980 we all successfully made it around the course to end in horseguards parade with that medal around our necks.  We would like to say well done to all the runners but especially the 200 MACS runners and two honary apes, Steve Cotter who helped push Chris to the finish and Adam Dicker who gave immense support not only to Louise but to us all throughout our training.

The reason for taking part was for our charity MACS.  At the time of writing we had already achieved our initial target of £4500.  We are trying to push towards £5000 and if you haven’t donated yet please do so.

Thank you to everybody who has supported us over the past 7 months and all of you that have donated to such a worthwhile cause.  Our experience of the day and some pictures will be added to the website very soon.
